About the Artist
Dawn's work reflects her love of transparent, vibrant color. Her paintings embrace the intimate experience of outdoor observations and reflect her many years of watercolor painting. She creates large-scale pieces with simplified and distilled layers of shapes and fluid washes, enlivened by calligraphic line. She is interested in creating work which stimulates our pleasure of beauty through the celebration of color.
"Her 'effortless' style is the result of being an accomplished artist who chooses a loose approach, an artist with a disciplined and trained hand and eye. Upon close inspection, visitors will find her work has layers of meaning.”
-Soni Martin, Professor of Art at Fayetteville State University, NC
